Where the lion roars – official co-sponsor of the ZSC Lions

[story_date]

Speed, power, cleverness, team spirit, passion, success – all these and more define top-level ice hockey. And Planzer Parcel. That’s why we co-sponsor one of the best Swiss ice hockey clubs: ZSC Lions.

AMONG CHAMPIONS

Ten Swiss league titles in the NLA, seven-time champion in the NLB, four Cup victories, Victoria Cup winners, nine U20 Elite league titles, four-time U20 Top champion, five-time U17 Elite champion and countless victories – the Lions’ trophy case is a sight to behold. The club slogan ‘Mir sind Züri’ [We are Zurich] is decidedly modest by comparison. And it’s just this combination of understatement and records broken that we share with the team known as ‘Zätt’ and support through our sponsorship for the 2021/2022 campaign. After all, just like the Lions, we at Planzer Parcel are right where the action is.

Agility on the ice

Because good is not nearly good enough for us, our engagement with ZSC goes well beyond our financial support for the club. The Planzer engineering team took the club’s ice resurfacer to Dällikon and gave it a polished new paint job and lettering. The result? A brand new machine in the Planzer Parcel retro look. Over the next season, it will resurface the ice before and after the games and between periods. Learn more about the creation of the striking ice resurfacer in this making-of video.

Making of

With more than 70 teams and 1,400 players, the Lions group is one of the biggest ice hockey organisations in Europe. For more than 90 years, the Lions have had a deep bond with their fans and the city of Zurich. And as winners of the Champions League and Victoria Cup, the club’s renown extends well beyond Europe. The only thing missing: their own arena. But that will soon change, as the new Swiss Life Arena in Zurich Altstetten is set to open its doors in August 2022.

Family bond

ZSC is a big family that has shared a strong bond with its fans for more than 90 years. This commitment manifests itself in the tireless pursuit of top results, satisfied spectators, enthusiastic fans, a strong development programme, friendly encounters and unforgettable experiences. Our sponsorship relationship with ‘Zätt’ makes one thing perfectly clear: there’s a strong team at work here.

‘Like Planzer Parcel, ZSC Lions stand for passion, performance and success. After all, we take to the ice for exactly the same people.’

Roger Gemperle, ZSC Lions Marketing Director
